He rented a mountain to raise 30 pigs, then abandoned it for 5 years – one day he returned and was petrified by what he saw…

The next morning, he closed the pigsty. He handed the keys to the landowner, Mang Tino, and descended the mountain. He couldn’t bear to witness the total collapse of everything he had built. In his mind, everything was already lost.

For five years he did not return to the mountains.

He and Marites moved to Quezon City and worked as factory laborers. Life was simple, not wealthy, but peaceful.

Whenever anyone mentioned pig farming, Roger would just smile bitterly.

“I simply gave my money to the mountain.”

But earlier this year, Mang Tino suddenly called him. His voice was shaking.

“Roger… come here. Your old pigsty… something important has happened.”

The next day, Roger hiked more than 40 kilometers uphill. The old dirt road was now overgrown with grass and trees, as if it had been abandoned for a decade.

As he climbed, his chest filled with anxiety and fear.

Had the pigsty already been destroyed?
Or was there no trace left of his former dream?

As he rounded the last bend in the mountain, he stopped suddenly.

The place he had abandoned… seemed alive.

It was no longer the old pigsty he had left behind. The rusty tin roof was now overgrown with vines and thick vegetation. The muddy pens had blended in with the forest. The surrounding trees had grown tall, and the old path was almost unrecognizable.

But that wasn’t what stopped him.

He heard noises.

“Ngrok… ngrok…”

Roger froze.

Slowly, he approached the fence, almost completely submerged in tall grass. When he peered inside the old fence, he recoiled in shock.

There were pigs.

Not just one or two, but many.

Large specimens with robust bodies. And several piglets running around.

The thirty piglets he had left behind five years earlier seemed to have turned into an entire flock.

“No… it’s impossible…” she whispered.

Mang Tino, who was walking behind him, approached.

“That’s exactly what I was telling you,” he said softly. “They haven’t disappeared.”

“But… how did they survive?” asked Roger, still in disbelief at what he was seeing.
