With two boys growing up at home, bread disappears incredibly fast: sliced loaves, rolls, bagels, English muffins … We eat a lot of it, so I always buy extra when it’s on sale and freeze the rest. This saves money, avoids waste, and simplifies busy mornings, especially when we need something quick for lunch or breakfast.
But a recurring problem arises: taking bread out of the freezer to find it dry, hard, or freezer burnt. This usually happens when too much air is trapped in the bag or when the slices freeze and stick together.
