One bite of this and you’ll forget about the traditional poppy seed cake: this is how tiramisu is made from it

Once you taste this poppy seed bun, you’ll want to make it this way.

Poppy seed cake is well known, but more and more people are making it in a different version. The well-known flavors remain, but the texture is softer than the classic version. This is poppy seed cake tiramisu.

Recently, more and more variations have been appearing that are a little different from the usual. For example, the version layered with mascarpone cream is closer to a tiramisu, yet retains the flavors that many people know from their childhood.

When two desserts meet

The base of poppy seed cake is simple, croissant, milk and poppy seeds. This is now accompanied by a light, creamy layer, which takes the whole thing in a new direction. Such transformations are not foreign to Hungarian cuisine, but rather a kind of play with familiar flavors.

The mascarpone makes the dessert softer, silkier, and easier to spoon than slice. It’s a slightly different experience than the traditional version, but many people find that’s what makes it so exciting.

These recipes are often created by someone adapting a well-known dessert to their own taste. Not every household makes it this way, but more and more people are trying it.
