Gulf of Finland. Calm water, clear sky, light breeze – a perfect day for fishing. Captain Viktor steers the boat while tourists from Moscow enjoy fishing and nature.
And suddenly:
“Viktor Semyonich, someone is swimming there…” one of the passengers shouts, pointing into the distance.
Viktor squints. At first it looks like a bird. But the closer he gets, the clearer he sees it: a red cat struggling in the water. Exhausted. Wet. On the edge.
It’s a mile and a half offshore. How it got there remains a mystery.
The cat reaches pitifully for the boat, but barely manages to stay afloat. The tourists completely forget about fishing. Victor grabs the net.
